Through out scripture a Name was considered very significant. In ancient Israeli households the naming of a child was to reflect characteristics desired in the child.
A name describes a person and reflects their position or reputation. Our name identifies us with our family.
In the Bible to be given the name of another means to pass on ownership….remember Jesus gave us His Name in John 17
Abraham and Sarah had their names changed by God and were given part of His name the”HEI” from the name Yahweh the Sacred personal Name of Israel’s God…One who is always near and present with his people, One who is always intervening in History on behalf of His people….this sacred name implies God’s Covenant relationship with His People.
God manifested His Name Yahweh in Exodus 3:13….God was about to show His mercy and redemption as he delivered His people from bondage in Mitzraim (Egypt also means restriction)
God’s nature became evident to His people, Israel, from His actions where He conveyed His full power.
The next name in this picture is Yeshua (Jesus) this magnificent name of Jesus means “Salvation”
Today I would like to discuss the last letter in the name of Yeshua. ( go from right to left to see the Ayin)
It is the Ayin it means Divine Providence. The shape of the Ayin looks like a form that is bent over and yet an arm extended up to Heaven…which connects this world to the world to come.
Phil. 2:5 “Jesus Christ who though He was in the form of God did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made Himself of no reputation taking upon Himself the form of a servant being born in the likeness of man, humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on the cross, therefore God has highly exalted Him and given Him the Name that is above every name”
Yeshua coming to earth as a man, yet because of His sinless life, because of His perfect sacrifice on the cross and complete resurrection has been given the Name above all Names
He came to take the punishment for our sins…the complete price has already been paid…Yeshua…Jesus the Redeemer wants to Bless you….His pierced Hands are open to you right now…His love is higher than your pain…reach out to Him He is waiting for you to come to Him
Come into my Heart Lord Jesus, come into my heart today
